英語の物語
最初は日本語を見ず、分からない部分だけ開いてみましょう。Saki found a postcard on her desk after dinner. The picture showed her town, but something was different. The park clock was broken.
Saki looked at the date. It was tomorrow's date. On the back, there was one sentence: TOMORROW AT THREE, YOU WERE BRAVE. The past tense looked strange, but Saki thought it was a simple mistake.
The next day, Saki was going to meet her friend at the park. At three, she saw a small boy crying near the broken clock. His balloon was in a tree.
Saki was afraid of climbing trees, but she remembered the postcard. “I will try,” she said. She climbed carefully and got the balloon. At exactly 3:07, she gave it back to the boy.
The boy smiled. Then the park clock suddenly started again and moved to 7:13 before showing the correct time. Saki checked her bag. The postcard had changed. Now it showed the boy laughing. A closed white umbrella stood behind him, although no one in the park had one.
That night, Saki wrote a new postcard to herself. It said, “Tomorrow will be better if you are kind today.”

will は未来の出来事や予測を表します。後ろは be のように原形です。

be going to で予定を言う
Saki was going to meet her friend at the park.サキは公園で友だちに会う予定でした。be going to + 動詞の原形
すでに決めている予定を表します。過去の予定なら was going to になります。
- I am going to study tonight.今夜勉強する予定です。
